UI & Customer Journey Re-Design
- Shopping Vouchers has been set up to try and help the general public save some money when they are shopping online by using voucher codes, discount codes, promotional codes or even just finding out about a sale that a store is running, without making them jump through hoops or pay membership fees to gain access to the discounts.
With a lot of similar sites out there it is becoming harder and harder for these companies to stand out from the crowd. I was asked to take a look at the current UI, recommend ways to streamline the user journey and make the experience as easy as possible to boost conversions.
As a starting point the layout was simplified, making the critical information and paths more prominent and easy to access. This was then combined with a Disqus comment system along with an increased social media integration to encourage users to review and share their experiences with not only the 'deal' or 'voucher' they have used, but with the site and company itself.
Another area where was felt that the thought the whole experience could be improved was with the actual click through from 'Get Deal' to the store website. To overcome this, a modal overlay was designed similar to how Google Images currently works where the website is loaded in the background and to get to the website you must close this overlayed modal, encouraging the copy of the discount code if applicable.
An email layout redesign was also carried out to try and streamline users to the site and more importantly the deals and vouchers.
Shopping Vouchers are currently running AB testing on the current and new site redesigns.
