Laser Cut Wooden Records by Amanda Ghassaei
Just like any vinyl record, designer Amanda Ghassaei has attempted to reproduce accurate soundbytes by converting digital audio files onto laser-cut wooden records with a precision of 1200dpi. unlike hi-fi audio, the acoustics are rendered in a resolution of 4-5 bits, ( the typical mp3 audio is 16 bit), and a sampling rate up to about 4.5kHz (mp3 is 44.1kHz).

A Branding Agency Reinvents The Perfume Business
COMMODITY, AN ONLINE SCENT BOUTIQUE, IS AIMING TO CHANGE THE INDUSTRY.
The fragrance industry—a realm of cheesy commercials and tenuous celeb endorsements—has been fairly untouched by the Internet age, unless you count the flourishing knockoff economy. “The biggest challenge is that you can’t smell what you see online,” says Yo Santosa, the creative director of the L.A. agency Ferroconcrete and co-founder of new online scent company Commodity. “Currently the fragrance market is saturated with shirtless male models and lofty slogans. We wanted to create something modern that felt accessible even if you’re not into fragrances.”

Stop it Santander. Just Stop.
I’m not the biggest fan of advertisements at the best of times…but this is absolutely horrible. It just simply makes me shudder with embarrassment for knowing who the sports personalities are.
Awkward doesn’t do it justice.

Finally, a lunchtime ride.

I actually managed to juggle some work things and get out on the bike for the first time in a long time today - rusty just isn’t the word - and I don’t mean the bike.

Outlook.com Officially Replaces Hotmail

Outlook.com officially launched Tuesday, marking the demise of its predecessor, Hotmail.
Nearly seven months after unveiling a preview of the email service last July, Microsoft announced the end of its beta run in a blog post.
Microsoft, which acquired Hotmail in 1997, said it will switch users to the new service “soon,” but won’t force them to change their emails to an “outlook.com” address. It added that all users should expect to see the change take place by this summer.
“Everything from their @hotmail.com email address, password, messages, folders, contacts, rules, replies, etc. will stay the same, with no disruption in service.”
The software giant also revealed that over 60 million people are actively using Outlook.com.
